(AHN) – A web-based network of 30,000 veterinarians reported more than 471 cases of kidney failure relating to the recent recall of certain dog and cat food brands.
Veterinary Information Network founder Paul Pion said his count has gone over 471 but he has yet to tally new numbers. He reported that 104 animals have died from kidney failure.
Pion said only 10 to 20 percent of the members belonging to his web site responded with information about animals effected by the tainted product.
